Breckenridge, a 140 year old mining town with Colorado's largest historic district, will greet you with a display of Victorian architecture that gives new meaning to "local colour".
You can close your eyes and almost feel the excitement and adventure of days long gone. Wrought-iron banisters and gingerbread trim are everywhere, decorating 19th century structures painted in every color of the rainbow.
You don't have to be a first time visitor to get hooked on the Breckenridge atmosphere - the people are friendly and fun, the restaurants and bars are varied and plentiful, art galleries and quaint shops abound, and the Rocky Mountain backdrop is breathtaking.
