Interlaken, the gateway to the Jungfrau Region, is a sizeable town with a distinct turn of the century flavour: hotels and carved Victorian chalets line the busy streets. The scenery is breathtaking here.

In the mountains and valleys above Interlaken, the region comprises several distinct resorts and ski areas: Wengen, Grindelwald, and Murren, all easily accessed by ski bus and train. Here is a vast heaven for intermediate skiers, with plenty of beginner slopes and thrills for experts.

An excellent selection of accommodation is available in all four of the above centres, with perhaps Grindelwald being the most popular.

Hotel Bernerhof  2** B & B                              

Hotel Bernerhof is just a 3-minute walk from the railway station, the skibus and the sports centre with its swimming pool.  This excellent small B & B hotel has a spacious lounge, terrace, and bar. A big buffet breakfast is included daily. The hotel provides 28 modern and comfortable rooms equipped with minibar, safe, TV, hairdryer, and free WiFi internet connection.

Hotel Derby ***

Very good 3 star hotel located right in the centre opposite the railway station and funicular. Has 69 rooms, all with phone, radio, TV, hairdryer, minibar, safe and balcony. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, lounge bar, sauna, solarium, and free entrance into the town pool complex.

Hotel Jungfrau Lodge ***

Another very good 3 star hotel that offers excellent value, 250m to the railway station, and with a free ski bus stop 50m away.

Has 48 rooms, all with phone, radio, TV, and some with a balcony. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, bar, and free entrance into the town indoor pool complex.

Buffet breakfasts and 4-course dinners included.

Hotel Belvedere ****+            

One of the leading Swiss first class hotels, the Hotel Belvedere is highly recommended and is a member of the French Gourmet Association “Chaine des Rôtisseurs”.

In a sunny location, the hotel has sensational views of the famous Eiger and neighbouring mountains. The family owned and run Belvedere has received the highest quality award, the Q2 presented by the Swiss Hotel Association.
