| The well-known (to Europeans) holiday region Flims-Laax-Falera is situated 25 km west of the medievel city of Chur, on a sunny plateau high above the upper Rhine valley. The region can be reached by car or post-bus over very good roads. Laax is a holiday resort with tradition which offers everything that visitors expect.
The "L'Alparena" ski area is a paradise for skiers with over 200 km of downhill runs for all grades of skiing. The high altitude plus the glacier make this resort very snowsure, even in the worst of winters.
Other stats include: 56 km of cross country trails, 60 km of cleared footpaths for walking, 2 ski schools, creche for children of 3 years and above, snowboarding run, 3 km of luge runs, curling and sports hall. Ski equipment (skis, snowboards, boots) can be left at the cable car station (extra).
