Schladming / Amade

    Schladming is a pleasant and unspoilt town in the province of Styria, about 1 1/2 hours drive south of Salzburg. The town centre is a hive of commercial activity while the ski lifts, sports facilities, large hotels and small industry are on the outskirts.

    There are four reasonable size ski areas around Schladming, all suitable for beginners to upper intermediate skiers. Experts should probably look elsewhere.

   Schladming has invested heavily in snowmaking equipment so reliability is not an issue. A great selection of mountain restaurants serve skiers well, plus there are plenty of apres ski activities in the town centre by Austrian standards.

   All in all, an excellent choice in ski resorts if you want good snow, plenty of well groomed runs in the "not too difficult" category, a pretty town, and easy access.

    Scladming is included in the huge Ski Amade region, Austria's largest single pass ski region which includes all the ski areas almost as far west as Kitzbuhel, with over 870 km of ski runs and 260 modern ski lifts!!

Hotel Kirchenwirt 3*** 

    Hotel Gasthof Kirchenwirt is located in the centre of the picturesque mountain village of Schladming, Austria, about five minutes away from the famous Planai ski area.

     A buffet breakfast is included daily. Our cozy, traditional, rustic lounge and our select restaurant offer a wide selection of typical national and international dishes.

     All 15 rooms have private facilities, Sat-TV, and a phone.

Hotel Stadttor 4**** 

    The Stadttor is a very friendly, family-run hotel, offering a charming and relaxing atmosphere with a superb range of facilities. Many of the attractive bedrooms are ideal for families. The hotel takes its name from the nearby 'Town Gate', the remaining gateway into the old medieval town.

     In the centre of town, and just a 5 minute walk to the Planai Gondola.

26 spacious rooms, a sauna, small bar, and 2 meals per day are offered. Great value hotel!

Sporthotel Royer 4**** 

    An excellent hotel in the centre of town and just 300m walk to the ski lifts. This four star property has a brand new wellness centre which includes an indoor pool, herbal sauna and massage facility.

   Spacious renovated rooms with comfortable furnishings, equipped with sat-TV, radio, minibar, safe, bath & shower, hairdryer, soft towelling bathrobes and cosmetics await you. Nearly all rooms have a large balcony!
