The pinnacle stage race of Italian cycling, the Giro d'Italia takes place in May of every year. In 2012, you have a chance to see it LIVE and IN PERSON during its final thrilling week! Join us as we take on several of the legendary climbs of Italy's pro tour firsthand. You'll have a front row seat to see several of the tour's stages, as the professional racers struggle to summit these monumental mountains.

Following our visit to the Giro, your custom trip will continue westward as we explore another famous European cycling destination: the French Alps. Home to Alpe d'Huez, the Galibier, the Glandon and many others, perhaps no other region better embodies cycling like the Alps. It will be your opportunity to climb these legendary mountains for yourself. Allez !

- Average Full Day Ride: 80 - 120 km / day.

Independence!

We believe you will enjoy your trip best at the pace you set. To assist with that, you will be given maps of the routes, a bike mounted GPS system to allow you to see every turn of the ride as well as direct you within mere feet of an intersection. With our trips, you are in the driver's seat (or saddle, as the case may be) and you set the pace!

Full support!

On the route everyday, you will be accompanied by both a trip leader riding a bike and one driving a support vehicule. They will check in with you at various points along the route, and throughout the ride. In addition to picking you up if you're done riding for the day, the support vehicule is well stocked with snacks (sports bars, sports drinks, fruits, etc.), spare bike parts and first aid.

Plus, the support vehicule is there even if you just want to stash that extra layer of clothing you needed in the morning but no longer need in the afternoon.

Trip confirmation is dependent on a minimum of 14 registered participants and hotel availability at time of booking. The price and itinerary are subjects to change depending on the final number of registered guests.

- All breakfasts, some lunches and some dinners

- Wine or beer with the group dinners

- GPS bike units for each guest to use during the trip

- Accompanied route support everyday with van

- Transfers from/to pickup a& drop-off locations at beginning and end of trip, plus transfer from Italy to France during the trip in private motor coach

- Luggage transfers during the trip

- Snacks (ie. energy bars, fruits, etc.) and drinks (hydration mixes, water, etc.) provided every day

- Secure bike storage
