8 day Semi-escorted tour

This trip begins and ends in Berlin Spandau, easy to reach thanks to public transport. You will pass the nights onboard and rejoice in the slightly hill-covered countryside during the day. The route consists of paved bike trails as well as of idyllic forest tracks which may be covered with sand every now and then.

Numerous rivers and channels draw through the Spreewald’s landscape, decorated with charming castles and towns to visit. Discover the Spreewald by bike or enjoy the landscape from the ship, each day you may choose. Both alternatives are tempting! Here is a map of the trip:

sanssouci-palace-potsdam-d047

The most attractive sights of Potsdam, ancient residence of Prussian sovereigns, can be discovered either on a guided or an independant bike tour. In the afternoon, the ship brings you to Köpenick with its worthwhile old-town via the Telotow-channel.

Day 3: Königs Wusterhausen (30-47 km)

abend_auf_see_i

Your day starts off with the wonderful Spree-bike trail along the Müggelsee lake. Enjoy the sun, the sparkling blue water and the possibilities to take one or more refreshing swims. You will then continue through the flat, wide and varied landscape in the south of Berlin with its characteristic lakes and forests. Anyone interested in Prussian history should visit the castle of Königs Wusterhausen in the afternoon.

Day 4: Storkow (31-39 km)

storkow_cycling

Marvelous lakes and forests characterize todays route from Königs Wusterhausen to the berth of Karlslust in Storkow along the river Dahme. Close to Storkow you will have the chance to stand on Germany's tallest (interior) sand dune at 36m high!

Day 5: Trip around the Scharmützelsee (42 km)
abend_auf_see_ii

This tour around Brandenburgs largest lake will lead you past old country estates on your way from Storkow to Bad Saarow and back. A stop in the thermae of Saarow at the Kurzpark is very tempting: The water temperature stays constantly between 34 and 36 °C. Three merging pools indoors and outdoors create a broad location inviting you to relax.

Day 6: Through the Spreewald (45 km)
spreewald_germany

In the morning, a van takes you to Lübben, situated at the heart of the beautiful Spreewald. Discover the small town with its castle-island connecting the Spree’s forests, nature and culture in the most beautiful way. Walking paths constructed with lots of imagination and adventure areas such as a maze, a sound garden or a water-playground, encourage everyone to experiment. On your bikes you will move on through the northern part of the Spreewald with its numerous channels. Discover even the tiniest corner of the Spreewald and take a tub in order to reach villages that will otherwise remain unaccessable.

Day 7: Berlin Mitte
