7 day Independent "single hotel based" tour
The south of Carinthia is a paradise for bikers. It is famous for its different landscapes: beautiful swimming lakes, the National Park Hohe Tauern with 30 peaks over 3000 metres, and the well-known Grossglockner (3798m) which is the highest mountain in Austria. During your daily bike trips you'll enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Alps, compelling nature and lakes surrounded by green grasslands. Austria at its diverse and scenic best.

DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Möllbrücke
|
|

Individual arrival in Möllbrücke /Lurnfeld at the beginning of the Möll Valley. Check in the hotel and receive all your travel documents.

Day 2: Lake Millstätter See - Round Trip (50 km)
|

You experience unspoiled nature and cultural diversity of Lake Millstätter See which is the second largest lake of Carinthia. If the circuit of 50km is too much for you just shorten the tour by boat across the lake.

Day 3: Glockner Bike Path (45 km)
|

By bike bus you will be transferred from Möllbrücke to Winklern. Along the bank you bike mostly downhill - following the crystal clear river Möll.
Sporty cyclists have another possibility (for a fee): First up to 1300 metres altitude by bike bus to Heiligenblut which is one of the most impressive valleys of Austria, and cycling back to your hotel (approx. 80km / 50 miles - optional).

| Day 4: Lake Ossiacher See - Round Trip (25 km) |

The day starts with a comfortable transfer by bike bus to Annenheim on Lake Ossiacher See. Along the bike path you circle this popular swimming lake. Visit the Monastery Ossiach or enjoy some quite and relaxing hours on the lake - there are lots of swimming possibilities and restaurants. By bike bus you will return to your hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 5: Day of rest
|

Today you have the opportunity to enjoy the amenities of your hotel. But you can also make an excursion to the district capital Spittal/Drau where you can visit for example the Castle Porcia (optional). Alternatively you could take the train up to 2200 metres altitude (mountain railway ride inclusive). Or maybe you want to go skiing on the Mölltal Glacier? - Everything is possible!

Day 6: Drau Bike Path (43 km)

One of the most famous European bike paths is the River Drau Bike Path. By train you ride to Oberdrauburg. Surrounded by the Gailtal Alps you pass the spa Dellach and you arrive in Greifenburg, a historical village founded nearly 2000 years ago. Finally you move on to Sachsenburg and reach your hotel by the end of this exciting day.

Accommodation: Hotel Kreinerhof 4*
A family run hotel with a wide garden, idyllicly situated at the beginning of the National Park Hohe Tauern. The rooms are equipped with bath tub or shower, toilet, SAT-TV; telephone, balcony, internet access.
There is an excellent restaurant and a wellness area with sauna, sanarium, aromatic steam bath, solarium, infrared cabin, fitness and relaxing room.

EASY TO MODERATE:
Asphalt or hard packed gravel bike paths, mostly flat but a few hilly stretches on the Glockner Bike Path. You cycle mostly downhill, with the occasional short uphill section!
